National Pollution Control day (Puneet Sagar)

 1. Activity- National Pollution Control day (Puneet Sagar)   

2. Date and Venue-2nd Dec, 2022, Pritisangam, Karad

3. Description of activity-

National pollution control day was organized on 2nd December 2022 under the Puneet Sagar Abhiyan by the NCC cadets of SGM College and Y C College and VC College. On this occasion, Swachhata Abhiyan was conducted at Pritisangam, Karad. Cadets helped in collecting garbage and cleaning the bank of the river. They successfully collected almost 30 kg of garbage, waste which included mostly plastic bottles, wrappers, etc.

4. Outcomes

1) Cadets know the importance of cleanliness.

2) Cadets spread awareness about Puneet Sagar Abhiyan among other people.

3) Cadets helped in clearing the riverside and collected 30 kg of waste.

Constitution day, Martyr’s Day and National Cadet Corps day

 1. Activity- Constitution day, Martyr’s Day and National Cadet Corps day

2. Date and Venue-26th Nov 2022, Sadguru Gadage Maharaj College, Karad

3. Description of activity-

Every year 26th November is celebrated as “Constitution Day” as India’s constitution was adopted on this day in 1949. This day also marks the memory of the 26/11 terrorist attacks in Mumbai in 2008.

This day was organized in SGM College, Karad On 26th Nov 2022 in collaboration with NCC. Principal Dr. Mohan Rajmane conveyed the importance of constitution day to the cadets and students after the reading of the preamble of the constitution by students and staff Vice-Principal Prof. N. R. Suryawanshi delivered a speech highlighting the importance of “Shaheed Din” along with the staff, cadets and students paid tribute to the heroes who sacrificed their lives during the attacks.

4. Outcomes

1) Students and cadets learned about the importance of constitution day.

2) Students also remembered the heroes of 26/11 attacks and paid tribute to them.

National Unity Day, Unity Run

 1. Activity- National Unity Day, Unity Run

2. Date and Venue- 31st October 2022, Sadguru Gadage Maharaj College, Karad

3. Description of activity-

National Unity/Integrity Day is celebrated every year on 31st October, to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who had a major role in the political integration of India. This day makes the citizens of India aware of the role of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, played in unifying all the princely states of India and making India the nation it is today. On this day the cadets and students of the SGM college 19 MAH BN NCC, Karad to place to preserve the unity and integrity of India. National unity run was conducted.

4. Outcomes

1) Students and cadets were made aware of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's role in unifying India

2) Students and cadets took place to preserve National Unity and Integrity

Tree Plantation

 1. Activity- Tree Plantation

2. Date and Venue-15th August, 2022, Sadguru Gadage Maharaj College, Karad

3. Description of activity-

  The Tree Plantation programme was organized by the Department of 19 MAH BN NCC Karad, 6 MAH Girls BN NCC Kolhapur and NSS at SGM College Karad on the occasion of Independence Day 15th August, 2022. The flag was hoisted by the Principal Dr. Mohan Rajmane Saheb. Subsequently, tree Plantation program was organized in the presence of the Principal Dr. Mohan Rajmane and ANO Lt. Sandip Mahajan.

The cadets of NCC participated in the above program. After this program, the cadet of SGM College Karad and SUO Mitesh Patil expressed his opinion about the tree plantation programme which is also to be held in SGM College once in a year and also about the management of the tree plantation program.

4. Outcomes

1. Students know about the importance and benefits of tree planting.

2. Students get knowledge about how to take care of plants in the college.

75th Independence Day

 1. Activity- 75th Independence Day

2. Date and Venue-15th August, 2022, Sadguru Gadage Maharaj College, Karad

3. Description of activity-

The 75th Independence Day of India was celebrated in Sadguru Gadage Maharaj College Karad. This is the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav for India. The Independence Day was celebrated in S. G. M. College Karad on 15th August 2022 in the valuable presence of Advocate Ravindra (Bhau) Pawar, Chairman, CDC and Principal Dr. Mohan Rajmane, Vice-Principal, Teacher, Staff and Students.

Principal Dr. Mohan Rajmane inspired the cadets and students with his speech. Also, he gives the NCC pledge to NCC Cadets. Dr. Rajmane accepted the greetings from the parade of the cadets.  

4. Outcomes

1. The sense of pride developed among the students for Indian Tiranga and Independence Day.

2. Respect created for the patriots who sacrifice everything for the service of the country.

Partition Horrors Remembrance Day

 1. Activity- Partition Horrors Remembrance Day

2. Date and Venue-14th August, 2022, Sadguru Gadage Maharaj College, Karad

3. Description of activity-

Partition Horrors Remembrance Day marks the suffering of people during the partition of India in 1947 which left 10 to 20 million people displaced and more than 1 million dead. Due to the partition of India, many citizens had loosed their lives in the partition turmoil and also, displaced from their native villages. The Government of India decided to pay homage and tribute to such people by organizing 14th August in every year as a Partition Horrors Remembrance Day.

This day was commemorated in the college on 14th August 2022. Lt. Sandip Mahajan addressed to the students and cadets by covering the importance of this day and also told about how the scarifies of people should not be forgotten.

Principal Dr. Mohan Rajmane also addressed the students and cadets and pay homage to the lives lost in the partition turmoil of 1947.

4. Outcomes

1. Students get knowledgeable about lost of lives during the partition.

2. Students aware about the effect of tragic and horrific events during the partition period.

3. A sense of unity and equality created in the minds of the students by removing any form of discrimination based on religion or caste which is one of the reasons for leaving the partition.

‘HAR GHAR TIRANGA’ awareness Rally

1. Activity- ‘HAR GHAR TIRANGA’ awareness Rally

2. Date and Venue-10th August, 2022, Sadguru Gadage Maharaj College, Karad

3. Description of activity-

‘HAR GHAR TIRANGA’ rally was held at Sadguru Gadage Maharaj College, Karad on 10th August, 2022 in collaboration with 19 Mah Bn NCC Karad, 6 Mah Girls Bn NCC Kolhapur, NSS, Gymkhana department and Women’s Military Academy.

This program was conducted by the guidelines of Government of India on the occasion of celebrating the 75th Indian Independence day (Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav). During the SWARAJ Week (9th August – 17th August 2022) ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ Rally was organized. ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign entails public awareness social campaign and all citizens are implored to combine into the campaign by hosting the poster and displaying the national flag in their houses and using the Indian Tricolor as displaying or profile picture on their social media handles. To celebrate the 75th year of Indian Independence day, this call rally was organized with the help of Principal Dr. Mohan Rajmane.

4. Outcomes

1. It encourages the people to celebrate the 75th Indian Independence day by bringing the National flag home and hoisting it during 13 to 15th August, 2022.

2. It inspires and encourages the citizens of India to bring Tiranga to their homes.

3. The cadets know about the sacrifice and devotion of our freedom fighters.
